The day has gotten away from me and I almost forgot to post! This quote is one that I just read in my daily email of inspirational quotes, so I can't claim it as an old favorite. But it is a NEW favorite!
To hold, you must first open your hand. Let go. -Tao Te Ching
It's something I'm being reminded of...that when I hold on to something, anything, too tightly...I take away God's ability to do what He does best.
But sometimes, when we let the things we're holding on to go...God steps in and takes care of it all, and hands over what it is we really need. Whether that's a better version of what we had, or something we never even dared dream of.
Life is hard, by it's very nature. It's painful, by it's very design. But sometimes the only way to get to the amazing is to walk straight through the pain.
The blog title says all there is to say about my philosophy on life, Life Is Good.
I have a wonderful husband. Mark and I were high school sweet hearts and married 20 years after we broke off our first engagement with each other. Some things are meant to be.
I was blessed with two kids from my first husband, Chuck. Josh is 23 and Alison is 19. I loved them when they were little and I've loved watching them grow up. They're pretty much adults now, but they still need and still love their mom. After losing their dad when they were too young (age 12 and 8), they've come out the other side as amazing people that I'm proud to know (and claim as MINE!) I also have a beautiful grandson, Kingsley, who of course grows more amazing every day.
I have solid group of rock climbing friends. Sheila, Joseph, Danny, Dave, Hans, Romy ... and others you may read me talk about.
I have a job that I work from home. I have enough of everything I need in the world.

Let go and let God. I like that one best.

:-)
Letting go can be terrifying. I mentioned to a girlfriend recently that change is on the horizon, and I can't see where I'm going.
I even wrote a post about it but it is sitting in drafts.
Maybe one day it will get posted. Or maybe not.
